Historic Milestones

1.
🇷🇺 Daniil Medvedev captured his 23rd ATP Tour title — and became the first player ever to win the Dubai Tennis Championships twice non-consecutively, adding the 2026 crown to his 2023 title.
2.
🏳️ The final ended in a walkover after Tallon Griekspoor withdrew with a left-hamstring injury — the seventh ATP Tour singles final to end w/o, and the first since 2017 Delray Beach.
3.
🇳🇱 Griekspoor reached his first ATP 500 final, toppling #2 seed Alexander Bublik 6–3, 7–6(4) in R2 and ousting #5 seed Andrey Rublev 7–5, 7–6(6) in a marathon semifinal.
4.
🇫🇷 Defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas exited in the first round, beaten by Ugo Humbert 6–4, 7–5 — the earliest Dubai defence failure since 2018.
5.
🏆 Harri Heliövaara / Henry Patten defeated Marcelo Arévalo / Mate Pavić 7–5, 7–5 to claim a third consecutive 2026 doubles crown — Adelaide, Doha, now Dubai — the first back-to-back-to-back run by any team this century.
6.
🇨🇦 Top seed Félix Auger-Aliassime's ATP 500 bid ended in the semifinals, swept aside 6–4, 6–2 by Medvedev in 1 hour 12 minutes.
7.
💪 Medvedev did not lose a set en route to the title — the first sets-not-dropped Dubai campaign since Novak Djokovic in 2020.
8.
🇫🇷 Arthur Rinderknech pulled off the upset of the week, fighting back from a set down to defeat #4 seed Jack Draper 7–5, 6–7(4), 6–4 in R2.
